How to Download YouTube Shorts on Android (2025)
Want to save a YouTube Short on your Android phone without installing another app? When the Short is public, you can copy its link and use a free browser-based downloader to fetch file options. This guide walks through the steps, then points you to our tool.
What you need
- A public YouTube Short (not private or members-only)
- Android phone with Chrome, Firefox, or similar
- The copied Short URL from YouTube
Step 1: Copy the Short link
- Open the Short in the YouTube app.
- Tap Share → Copy link.
- Or open the Short in your browser and copy the address from the bar (links often look like
youtube.com/shorts/...).
Step 2: Open the downloader
On your phone, open our free social media downloader (works for YouTube and many other sites). For a YouTube-focused page, use the YouTube video downloader.
Step 3: Paste and fetch links
- Paste the Short URL into the box.
- Tap Fetch Download Links.
- Wait a few seconds while formats are resolved.
- Choose a file option and download using your browser.
Tips and troubleshooting
- Private or age-restricted videos may not work — only public links are supported.
- If nothing loads the first time, wait 30–60 seconds and try again (the server may be waking up).
- Use only for content you have rights to save (personal backup, offline viewing you’re allowed to do).
