Save Instagram Reels Without an App
Looking to save Instagram Reels without installing a third-party app from an unknown store? For public Reels, the usual approach is: copy the post link, paste it into a browser tool, and download from there. Here’s a simple workflow.
Before you start
- The Reel must be public (account not private, or you can view it while logged in and copy a shareable link).
- You need the Reel’s URL — not just a screenshot.
- Respect creators’ rights and Instagram’s terms; save only what you’re allowed to.
How to copy an Instagram Reel link
- Open the Reel in the Instagram app.
- Tap the ⋯ menu or Share.
- Choose Copy link.
- On desktop, you can also copy the URL from the browser address bar while viewing the Reel.
Save the Reel with our online tool
- Open our free social media downloader in your mobile or desktop browser.
- Paste the Reel link.
- Click Fetch Download Links.
- When options appear, pick a format and download.

Why use the browser instead of an app?
- No extra install or permissions on your phone.
- Works on Android and iPhone the same way.
- Updates happen on the server side — you always use the same web page.
Common issues
- Link from Stories or DMs may not work — use a direct Reel/post URL.
- Private accounts often block download tools.
- First request slow? Retry once after a minute.
